Google makes waves

A few weeks back Google revealed Google Wave at their I/O conference. I’ve seen notes about it on Twitter but haven’t had the time to really look into it until yesterday when I started watching the Google Wave Keynote speach.

The team behind Google Maps started developing Google Wave two years ago and the question they asked themselves were: What would email look like if it was invented today?

I do expect great things from Google but this demo really dazzled me. It must be so fun to work at a company that so clearly encourages creativity.

The possibilities of sharing waves, the real-time editing and collaboration and the possibilities of extensions to be built… it’s fantastic. It’s all open source and can only get better and better. I am soo looking forward to its release later this year. Lets hope my friends are to so we can really explorer all it’s uses.
